Dreams in Business

Enabling Personal Leadership

Miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears...

My mission

I believe people can realise everything they dream of, by using the unique power they have within them. It is my passion and mission to discover that power together and to apply it to make these dreams come true. That’s why I named my bureau ‘Dreams in Business’.

Since 1992 I am an enabler of personal growth in the lives of others. My main focus is personal leadership development. I do that as a trainer and a coach.

As a leadership trainer and coach, my aim is to find out what holds you back from standing in your power. Together we convert this barrier into a development question. The word develop comes from the old French to unveil or unfold, which I take very literally; together we remove the layers around your consciousness. Until we get to the level where we can find the answer to your development question. We go as far as possible yet no further than necessary.

This experience provides insight into the origin of your behavior, your patterns, your feelings. Only after you see why you do what you do, it becomes possible to make (other) choices. This opens the way to a life in freedom, love and growth. And that is where you realise your dreams.

The second dream that came true when I moved is about slowing down. My coachees long for relaxation, silence, rest. When you slow down, silence will follow and that silence creates room for attention. Attention to look at yourself and your surroundings with your heart and without your judgment. Attention is the greatest source of personal leadership. It enables an awareness of your thoughts, your feelings, your patterns; it gives insight into your freedom of choice and (therefore) your growth.

Slowing down is the starting point from which we will work together. This already starts with the journey to Huis ter Heide. You leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and as soon as you walk through the door, you are immersed in attention, silence and tranquillity. Depending on the weather and your mood, we can choose a place on the couch, at the table, on the terrace. Perhaps going for a walk feels good. Or would you rather stare at the flames in the fireplace? In all cases, the environment invites you to land, to stand still.

Coachees describe my practice as the silent eye of the storm, a place to come home, a little temple where the soul is rejuvenated. Being here is like a few-hour mini retreat. Everyday life feels far away, making it easier to see the essence of things from up close.

Coming home

After my children left home in 2019, I moved back to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, the area where I grew up myself. I now live here in the woods of Huis ter Heide.

Finding this place made two dreams come true. Firstly, after 35 years in Amsterdam, it is a pleasure and a privilege to live among ancient trees. As a little girl, I used to go door-to-door to sell Children's Stamps, I remember ringing the doorbell at houses behind old walls and fences, hidden in the green. While other children were selling their stamps in a street with rows of houses or apartment blocks - after all, you would quickly sell a lot of stamps - I was extremely intrigued by what was hidden behind those walls. Selling Children's Stamps for charity was a reason legitimate enough to open these gates and fences, allowing me to walk past the green to a front door to ring the bell; feeling like Alice in Wonderland.

I had tucked away the quiet dream to live in places like these myself. Until I found the house where I live now. And every morning when I wake up, I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming.
